FOUNDER & CEO
Brandon founded Mosaic on a conviction that the advice business was broken. Not slightly misaligned — structurally, fundamentally broken.
He didn’t read about this problem — he lived it. After hundreds of flights advising hundreds of business owners and their families on tax, succession, governance, and asset protection at some of the nation’s largest financial services firms, Brandon kept running into the same wall: even though families were wildly successful and had diverse teams of specialists, they were still tripping over extraordinary complexity and leaking millions in income taxes, estate taxes, professional fees, and insurance premiums because no one was incentivized to orchestrate the army of professional advisors required to make all the pieces work together.
So he built one.
Working at the intersection of Financial Capital and Family Capital, Mosaic was engineered as a flat-retainer shared family office to preserve family harmony and perpetuate the family business. Built to deliver the things entrepreneurial families most consistently say they want — unwavering objectivity, radical transparency, relentless simplicity, incredible impact, unreasonable hospitality, and exceptional value — Mosaic doesn’t compete with a family’s existing advisors; like any good coach, it makes them work together.
We measure success not by portfolios managed, products sold, or hours billed, but by earning the right to touch everything client families own and everyone they care about, and to be not just the first phone call, but the only one.
As Mosaic has grown, Brandon’s role has evolved. In addition to setting the firm’s strategic direction, you can find him in the same place he has always enjoyed the most — working shoulder-to-shoulder with client families, their professional advisors, and the Mosaic team to design, implement, and maintain the tax, legal, business, and financial structures entrepreneurial families depend on to grow, protect, and ultimately transfer their hard work to the people and causes most important to them.
Brandon is a member of YPO, the Ultra-High Net Worth Institute, and The Family Firm Institute, serves on the Professional Advisor Council of the Greater Houston Community Foundation, and advises the boards of several family-owned companies. He frequently speaks on tax, governance, succession, and philanthropic planning to entrepreneurs and their professional advisors, has taught courses at Southern Methodist University and the University of Houston, and mentors aspiring entrepreneurs through the SURE Program, a nonprofit initiative of the University of Houston.
Originally from Southern California, Brandon has been in Texas for more than twenty years — long enough to finally be allowed to say y’all!
When Brandon’s not in the office, he is either with his family or outside moving his body to counteract all of the hours spent reading boring tax and legal documents — preferably doing something that involves a dose of adrenaline. Skydiving, scuba diving, skiing, or backpacking in places with no cell service — if it involves launching himself out of a plane or off of a mountain or boat, he’s in. There’s a reason Mosaic carries so much life insurance on him.
