Richard is Mosaic’s Income Tax Strategist, analyzing the tax consequences of specific actions, transactions, and structures and translating that analysis into proactive advice for client families.
His background is broader than most tax strategists. It spans mortgage lending, derivatives trading, public accounting at a Big Four firm, and a decade at a local family office. That range gives him a practical understanding of how tax decisions interact with real-world transactions that most CPAs simply don’t have.
Richard holds a BBA in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin, a BBA in Accounting from The University of Houston-Downtown, and an MSc in Finance from The University of Houston. He is a Certified Public Accountant, a member of the AICPA, and has passed all three exams of the Chartered Financial Analyst program.
Outside the office, Richard enjoys reading, traveling throughout Europe with his wife, Laura, and working on his German.
